A series begun ten years ago with a Hasselblad film camera

— an exploration of duality, time and traces.

Each image is created on the spot, in the light of the moment,

in the breath of a real place.

The first is rooted in the garage of a project that

my wife and I undertook: the transformation of an old malt house into a living space.

It is a fragment of memory, a gesture of gratitude towards this seminal passage.

The second one wakes up on a Sunday morning,

at the bend in Rue Haute in Brussels.

A vibrant, welcoming city where we love to let time slip by.

The image captures its resonance, the discreet pulsation of the stones and passers-by.

The third rises in Milan,

in front of the door of a cathedral undergoing restoration,

in the midst of Sunday mass.

Between the sacred and the construction site, the visible and the anticipation.

The fourth is nestled in a Portuguese forest,

on the ruins of an old tea palace.

Forgotten architecture, handcrafted, surrendered to the slow pace of life.

An encounter between matter and silence.

The last three pieces extend the exploration:

figures that brush against each other, become embedded in their setting,

as if to question presence — and erasure.
